In the Distance I Hear Surges, 2021-2023, exhibited at Röda Sten Konsthall, Gothenburg
Digital prints with reactive ink on transparent silk, welded and polished steel sculpture

In the Distance I Hear Surges explores the coexistence between presence and absence. Randulv’s inspiration comes from the experience of growing up with epilepsy and moving in and out of consciousness. The fabrics’ sensitivity to movement creates interacting waves with the viewer and their ability to see the subject clearly, letting the work be present and absent all at once. Randulv works within the field of slow art, defined by her material choices to work with a time consuming 12-step printing process, welding, and steel grinding.
